Spent the morning photocopying documents for Sunday's Church Vestry meeting after Family Eucharist. Tiresome task. Then had lunch with Valerie at Sibbo Delhi Dhaba Indian Restaurant on Sauchiehall Street. Surely this is the best Indian restaurant in Glasgow. The food is always of a high standard, all done by the family who own it - all brothers. Then in the afternoon we saw the RMS QE2 berth at the Ocean Terminal, Greenock, on the 40th birthday since she was built across the Clyde at the John Brown Yard.
Met by a pipe band and 40 ship-builders who helped build her. A lovely sight.
At 6-00 pm she was edged off the pier by a tug, and sailed off to do the 'measured mile' off the Isle of Arran, which she did in her trials. Then she sails south to Liverpool, Southampton and ....where? An historic day for Glasgow and Clydeside.
